The hornet is twice the size of a wasp with brown & yellow markings. They will occasionally enter your property. There are 2 other types of hornets the Asian hornet (Vespa velutina) they have been seen in this country since 2016 & are a predatory species that will kill & take are native honeybees. The other type is a Giant Asian hornet, (Vespa mandarinia). No known records of them have been found in this country.

We use the same treatment as we do with wasps. Powders & insecticides used are for professionals use only. We do not recommend you tackle a hornet’s nest or even a wasp with out protection or with chemicals that can cause wasps & hornets to become aggressively dangerous.
Unless the nest is causing a problem we normally don’t take away.
Wasp Problems
The problem with wasps most people find them a threat as they will sting you not on purpose. Wasps will usually only attack people if they fill threatened. Wasp sting can cause ANAPHYAXIS shock a severe, potentially life-threatening allergic reaction. Wasps also can cause problems if you have a restaurant, coffee shops, or even just a family home. You have duty of care to your customers as well as your family & even neighbours.

If a wasp nest is posing a threat to you or your business, we can treat the nest with various types of insecticides, powders. The treatment we use will normally have a rapid knock down. Also, the treatment that we use does not cause wasps to swarm.
