Moles

The problem:
Mole ( Talpa europaea) vertebrates

Love them or loath them, moles can be very destructive in any garden, lawns, flower beds, vegetable beds & even damage to roots of any plants. But mainly moles undermine lawns by digging up your lawn causing the soil to move beneath the grass making the grass roots struggle to tack hold, also causing uneven lawns. Moles are mainly solitary mammals, although sometimes depending on the ground if it's rich with earthworms, they also eat other soil invertebrates particularly insect larvae & molluscs. Also, moles cause a lot of damage to garden machinery such as lawnmowers, even farmers loss a lot of products due to moles digging up their crops & grass lands. Even racecourses & gallops moles can cause damage. Others golf courses playing fields to.

The solution:

Control

The best way to control moles is by trapping techniques, finding their tunnels & setting traps, The traps we use are humane type that dispatch of the moles very quickly.

 After treatment:
Hygiene

The only thing that can be said there is no real control of moles, other than to keep a lookout for any further infestation. Sometimes they will go after a treatment, but if you have been having problems for several years it’s quite hard to remove them completely.

Squirrels

The problem grey squirrel ( Sciurus carolinensis).

The north American grey squirrel is not a native to this country it was introduced to this country from the USA back in the 1800, although cute to see, they carry the squirrel pox that unfortunately are native red squirrels can’t survive from. The grey squirrel causes a lot of damage to trees & shrubs stripping bark etc. The main problem if they get into your property they will build nest, chew electrical cables, water pipes, timber work fascia boards damage insulation etc. Like any pest intruder they do enormous damage.

 The solution – Treatment

If you have squirrels in your property normally loft areas, we will obviously check the situation first & do a survey this survey will be done the same day of treatment. We will check for any damage, structural, electrical, water pipes, insulation & entry points. One thing we will check for is any bare electrical cables that can cause danger to the pest controller or even cause a fire. Humane traps will be used to control squirrels in your property; non-poisonous attractants will be used to catch the squirrel.

It is against the law to re-release a grey squirrel if it’s been caught alive per the wildlife & countryside act 1981.

 After treatment Hygiene

We will carry out proofing work were needed & advice the customer of other work that may & will need doing.
